TUCKER, Ga. – Oct. 12, 2022 – Aflatoxin sampling, export trends, pet food sustainability, regulatory updates, and mergers and acquisitions are the hot topics that will take center stage at the upcoming American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) Pet Food Conference, an event to bring manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, marketers and academia together.

The 16th annual AFIA Pet Food Conference will take place on Jan. 24, 2023, in conjunction with the 2023 International Production & Processing Expo, happening Jan. 24-26. The AFIA will also announce the recipient of the annual Friend of Pet Food Award at the conference.

“The AFIA Pet Food Conference is the place to be to learn what is up and coming in the pet food industry and connect with hundreds of pet food professionals,” said Louise Calderwood, AFIA’s director of regulatory affairs. “New research and trends are changing more than ever, and it is incredibly important to stay on top of rapidly developing issues.”

The program also invites graduate and undergraduate students to present research on emerging issues in the pet food industry in paper and poster sessions.

AFIA’s members manufacture more than 75% of the feed and 70% of the non-whole grain ingredients used in the country. AFIA is also recognized as the leader on international industry developments and holds membership in the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF).

NAMI’s mission is to shape a public policy environment in which the meat and poultry industry can produce wholesome products safely, efficiently and profitably.
