Molson Coors to move brewery from 231-year-old site in Montreal to Longueuil, Que.

Molson Coors has announced that it will shift its main brewery operations on Notre-Dame St. E. in Montreal where it has existed since 1786 to an as yet unbuilt facility in the Longueuil borough of St-Hubert, Que.

Last year, Molson Coors said it would invest CDN $500 million in a new brewery, and indicated on November 28, 2017 that it intends to bid on a parcel of land in Longueuil.

The Montrea; site will not be completely abandoned, as Molson Coors says it plans to maintain its microbrewery and sales there, but the rest of the site and land will be sold for re-development as overseen by the city of Montreal.

The Montreal site currently employs 1,000 workers.
