McDonald’s testing fresh beef for burgers

General McDonald’s Corporation Testing fresh beef at McDonald's

Fourteen Dallas-area McDonald’s restaurants to examine the intricacies of working with fresh beef burgers cooked in-store.

The McDonald’s Corporation will test the possibility of utilizing fresh beef cooked up at at its restaurants in 14 stores in the Dallas, Texas area.

According to a statement from McDonald’s, the test is multi-faceted:

  • To see what works and doesn’t work within the kitchens themselves, as far as operational procedure;
  • Customer response to the burger;
  • Price points.

While not stated, the tests are a response to dipping sales across the McDonald’s spectrum.

The fresh beef burger tests will be limited to the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Bacon Clubhouse, and a Dallas-Ft.Worth area regional Homestyle Burger.
