Leading Canadian consumer packaged food processing company Maple Leaf Foods Inc. has opened a new Hamilton, Ont.-based state-of-the art fresh bakery that is the largest in Canada.
Opened on September 28, 2011, the new 385,000-square-foot facility will produce a wide range of fresh bakery items, including the Dempster’s and Villaggio brand for Maple Leaf Foods’ Canadian customers. Dempster’s is Canada’s best-selling brand of bread.
Maple Leaf Foods is a Toronto-headquartered company with wide-ranging operations across Canada, the U.S., Mexico, U.K and Asia with over 24,000 employees. Its bakery division produce fresh and frozen foods, such as: breads, bagels, rolls, artisan-style and sweet products, fresh pasta and sauces, and fresh sandwiches.
