The Klöckner Pentaplast Group, the largest North American producer of rigid polyester films, has announced it will add new polyester production capacity at the company’s Rural Retreat, Virginia, manufacturing facility with an investment of US$4.9-million.
The new line will increase capacity for high-performance polyester films to support growth in full-body shrink-label, general-purpose thermoforming, medical device, and all-plastic box packaging applications.
“This polyester capacity expansion will enable us to continue to support our customers’ growing global demand for high-quality polyester packaging films, especially in the U.S.,” notes Michael Tubridy, president and chief executive officer Klöckner Pentaplast/Americas. “In addition, the added capacity will allow us to further enhance new product development capabilities.”
