General GAB Packaging Group GAB-Induspac Smith-Induspac

GAB Packaging Group five-year succession plan completed.

The GAB Packaging Group—consisting of Smith-Induspac and GAB-Induspac—announce that its five-year succession plan was completed this past May 1, 2016 allowing new company president and chief executive officer Luc Guertin to acquire the Group from founder Michel Renaud, who will remain involved in the company as chairman of the board.

New GAB leader Guertin has been involved with the company since 2011, during which time he headed the acquisition of Induspac from the Specialized Packaging Group.

Founded in 1973 by Renaud, the Group operates three customized industrial packaging plants: Smith-Induspac Toronto; Smith-Induspac Ottawa, and; GAB-Induspac) and distribution centers in Mississauga, Ottawa and the Montreal region.

The Group currently employs over 200 people with plans to double its size by the year 2020 through further acquisitions.
