Learn from Biscuits Leclerc’s Emilie Allen and Belmont Foods’ Doug Alexander as the CPG heavy hitters share their perspective and plans around automation and sustainability, including the need to take better advantage of all the data that modern automated systems create. This was one of the key themes discussed in the Insights into the Future of Packaging Automation roundtable, to be aired March 7.

“All the infrastructure is ready,” explains Leclerc’s Allen. “All the connections are present, we can share data between machines, we can gather it, but it’s really the resources to analyze it that’s currently lacking.” Both Allen and Belmont’s Alexander discuss possible first steps down that road.

As part of this packaging-automation roundtable, they discuss how automation tactics and tech have helped them move the needle on efficiency and sustainability. They also share their insights on the latest Future of Packaging Automation research conducted by PMMI. The panel includes:

  • Doug Alexander, Vice President of Sustainability & Government Relations, Belmont Food Group (Div. Premium Brands Holdings)
  • Emilie Allen, Vice President of Projects & Logistics, Biscuits Leclerc Ltée.
  • Tom Egan, VP of Industry Services, PMMI. Co-host of event. Presenter of PMMI Business Intelligence Study on the Future of Packaging Automation
  • George Guidoni, Editor, Canadian Packaging
  • And more!
