Open House at new Arizona plant highlights Novembal—part of the Sidel Group—investment in North American market.

On January 18, 2017, Novembal, part of the Sidel Group, held an official ‘Open House’ day at its new plant in Peoria, Arizona, U.S.

The company is an independent business unit producing caps and bottle closures mainly for beverage producers, which in 2016 established a new plant in the city of Peoria.

During the event, dignitaries and officials from Peoria, along with members of the local Chamber of Commerce and plant employees, heard welcoming speeches by Sidel Group president and chief executive officer Sam Strömerstén and Novembal managing director Lorenzo van Haelst.

“Novembal offers a full range of caps for the liquid food packaging market and by providing our customers with innovative solutions we aim to maintain and build our competitive position in the market,” explains van Haelst. “For over 50 years, our extensive knowledge of the markets, our experience and our commitment to continuous quality improvement has placed us among the leading suppliers of plastic closures for the liquid packaging industry.

“For this new plant in Peoria, we are proud to have hired 50 people from the local area. This brings a third facility to our network of production sites, enabling us to respond even more effectively to our customers’ needs anywhere within the North American market. Peoria is a great place for growth and success.”

A strategic re-alignment in 2015 saw Novembal transfer its operations to the Sidel Group, the leading provider of production equipment and services for liquids in PET (Polyethylene terephthalate ) plastic, metal can and glass.

The transfer recognizes the natural synergy that Novembal, which continues to operate as a standalone business, has with Sidel, a group with over 165 years of industrial experience.

With both companies being dedicated to innovations in PET solutions and serving the liquid packaging industry, the potential market crossover between Novembal and Sidel is extensive.

During the Open House event, Peoria mayor Cathy Carlat officially welcomed the company to the city, looking forward to a long and successful relationship which, she hoped, would be mutually beneficial to both Novembal and its workforce mostly drawn from the local population.

She said of the new plant: “Peoria welcomes Novembal as a partner with whom we share the principles of value and innovation. I look forward to their positive impact on our economy as well as their long-term success in our great city.”
