IFS PACsecure HACCP implementation course

Food Safety Global Food Safety Standard (GFSI) IFS Management IFS PACsecure PAC Packaging Consortium

Specifically designed for packaging manufacturers by more than 100 food processors, packaging converters, suppliers and government, this course provides the background leading to IFS PACsecure standard certification.

PAC, Packaging Consortium is hosting a one-day HACCP course on September 24, 2015 to assist plant managers and quality assurance personnel of packaging companies to become compliant with the IFS PACsecure food safety standard for individual packaging materials.

PAC has united with global standard owner IFS Management to achieve international recognition of the IFS PACsecure food safety standard.

IFS has more than 14,000 certifications for its Global Food Safety Standard (GFSI) recognized IFS Food Standard. In addition to packaging, it manages standards governing food processing, logistics, brokers, cash and carry/wholesale, household and personal care goods.

Industry Benefits
Among North American firms third party audited to IFS PACsecure are Silgan Plastics, Exopack, Atlantic Packaging, BoxMaster, Farnell Packaging, Haremar Plastic Manufacturing, International Paper, Layfield Poly Films, Master Packaging, Maritime Paper and Boehmer Box. In Europe firms certified to IFS PACsecure include Mondi, M. Neeman and Supralon.

IFS PACsecure is process driven based on science and risk. Part of the support material are workbooks covering the 24 common manufacturing process required in the manufacture of paper, flexible plastics, rigid plastics, metals and glass packaging.

Who should attend? Production, manufacturing, operations, product safety, quality assurance business management.

Attendees will learn current good manufacturing practices (GMPs) for:

  • external and internal premises;
  • transportation
;
  • receiving and storage equipment;
  • personnel;
  • sanitation and pest control;
  • terrorism and security;
  • recall and traceability;
  • development of HACCP programs for packaging materials

Course materials include an implementation guidance document for the prerequisite program (good manufacturing practices) to support control of:

  • facility conditions
;
  • equipment;
  • personnel;
  • recall and traceability requirements;
  • controls of hazards that include acceptable limits, monitoring, deviation, verification procedures and records keeping.
