Safety mechanization dynamo proudly shows off its brand new location

In the true spirit of business camaraderie and partnership, safety automation powerhouse Pilz Automation Safety Canada L.P. celebrated the recent opening of its brand spanking new headquarters in Mississauga, Ont., with a lavish open house event befitting one of the automation industry’s leading lights.

A leading supplier in safety automation products and solutions, the Canadian subsidiary of Ostfildern, Germany-based Pilz GmbH & Co. has many good reasons to be upbeat about its new Canadian base of operations that promises an abundance of new business opportunities and superb customer experiences.

Previously located in Barrie, more than an hour’s drive north of Toronto, the new 53,000-square-foot facility—housing a 12,000-square-foot warehouse and a training room that can accommodate up to 22 people at a time—the new Mississauga facility offers an accurate reflection of the company’s lofty ambitions for the Canadian marketplace.

Chief executive officer Andreas Sobotta flashing a genuinely proud smile just before his opening address to the 75 attendees who came to celebrate the Pilz Canada’s open house.

“It’s about time that Pilz can show Canadians what Pilz worldwide is all about,” Andreas Sobotta, chief executive officer of Pilz Canada, told Canadian Packaging in an exclusive interview prior to the opening ceremony.

“I am looking forward for Pilz Canada to grow and to add more people to our staff.”

Currently, employing six people at the new offices, Pilz Canada expects to hire at least another 11 full-time employees in the next couple of years, according to Sobotta.

Citing the increased density of nearby technology partners and prospective customers in the surrounding area, Sobotta asserted that the Mississauga location offers a multitude of benefits to its client base—in large part by being able to add a nice personal touch to the way the company conducts its everyday business.

“We can now invite customers to visit this location, which we could not do before in Barrie, and Mississauga is right where pretty much everyone else in our line of work is located,” Sobotta explained.

“We have a lot of automation companies and customers here,” he said, “and we are very happy to have a lot of people here at the grand opening.”

OPEN DOORS

Customers and attendees got to see first-hand what Pilz Canada is capable of offering, thanks to a series of impressive live demonstrations of monitors and other automated systems conducted on-site—reinforced with a comprehensive displays of the company’s world-renowned safety switches, configurable control system technologies, and other safety-related innovations.

Prior to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Sobotta and Pilz GmbH & Co. managing partner Susanne Kunschert took turns addressing the 75 attendees. Kunschert used her speech to show great admiration to the team standing behind Pilz Canada, reminding guests that Pilz Canada is built on the pillars of unique people who have worked tirelessly to make the company a success in Canada.

“When you talk about a company, it’s just about people,” Kunschert stated. “This is really what makes it fun when you work––when you get to know the people, when you get to talk about solutions, and when you have projects that you can all do together.

“I thank you from the bottom of my heart that you are giving us trust to work together with us.”

Guests had the opportunity to get an exclusive look at the safety components and automation solutions that Pilz Canada has promised to deliver to its loyal Canadian customer base.

For his part, Sobotta used his address to thank its Canadian customers for their loyal support over the years.

“All of you are part of the success of Pilz Canada and we thank you very much for your business, for your support and for your help,” Sobotta said in his crowdpleasing and well-received address.

“With this building, we are able to deliver the Pilz standard to Canada,” he stated.

“We are here today to celebrate the official opening of Pilz Canada office, and we are ready to fulfill our missions,” Sobotta concluded. “We want to make Canada a little bit better every day.”
