LAS VEGAS—The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) has announced the full program for its 2016 Printing Industry Sustainability Conference, taking place at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV.

SGP is recognized as a global leader in sustainability innovation and best practices for the printing industry. The organization is the premier certifying authority for sustainable printing facilities and has worked with major industry suppliers to accomplish the following:

  • Reduced energy use by 367kw/year for a savings of US$25,000;
  • Diverted 78 tons of waste from landfills by increasing recycling;
  • Reduced green house gas emissions by 2.42 tons;
  • Increased solvent recycling by 76 percent for a savings of US$16,000 per year.

SGP’s 2016 conference aims to bring together print professionals, buyers, and suppliers to celebrate successes, share strategies and ideas, and promote best practices for achieving a sustainable printing supply chain.

The conference will open at 8am with a breakfast panel featuring SGP manufacturing and distribution experts. The day’s sessions will include lessons in overcoming challenges and implementing green printing practices, as well as steps industry leaders can take to drive sustainability beyond SGP certification. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn and interact with international leaders in green printing, operational efficiency and sustainability.

The conference will also include opportunities for networking, peer-led case studies and round table discussions, and a keynote address from Katarina Tesarova, vice-president of sustainability at Las Vegas Sands.

Conference attendees can expect to leave the event with a better understanding of sustainable economic, environmental, and social practices in the printing industry.

“The conference is the best opportunity in 2016 to meet with the cutting edge brands, SGP certified printers and industry experts,” says SGP chair Lynn Krinsky. “SGP certified printers, brands and suppliers will share the latest in sustainability innovations and experience-making impact on a more sustainable future for communications and marketing.”

The 2016 Printing Industry Sustainability Conference is being hosted in conjunction with the SGIA Expo (the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association supports the wide-format printing community), giving industry leaders an opportunity to extend their time in Las Vegas and engage with sustainable printing experts.
