DALLAS, TX—Fusion Packaging’s Scene bottle was recently awarded the 2014 Cosmetic Package of the Year by the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) AmeriStar competition. The package was also announced as a finalist for the IoPP’s Best of Show, Sustainability and Design Excellence Awards.
Considered North America’s most prestigious packaging awards competition, the AmeriStar Awards annually recognizes packaging that demonstrates the best in innovation, product protection, economics, performance, marketing, and sustainability.
Scene—a patent-pending bottle featuring a shatterproof, crystal-clear shade base for true color indication—was selected as the winning package for the cosmetics category. The innovative bottle combines two resins, polypropylene and PCTG (Glycol-modified Poly-Cyclohexylenedimethylene Terephthalate), in a lightweight, single-walled package that is highly customizable.
The Scene bottle is a cosmetic foundation. Uniquely comprised of two resins, the package features a polypropylene barrel and PCTG base. The shatterproof, clear and glass-like base allows for true color indication, enabling the formula to be seen while on display or at point of sale.
Based off the Fusion Packaging Tru Collection, aesthetically the bottle has a sleek and slender design with universal appeal. The Scene package provides a large canvas for decoration, artwork and branding. This unique single-wall atmospheric bottle makes it lightweight, while hiding formula separation that often occurs over time in foundations.
Available in three pump options (aluminum, plastic and a combination of aluminum and plastic), consumers will love the endless opportunities for this package.
Scene has 30-ml capacity with a pump output of 0.23-ml.
This product is very compatible with most formulas and a more sustainable option than other foundation packages on the market.
The overcap material options are standard polypropylene or PCTG with an aluminum overshell option for the actuator.
Maximize the large space for branding through a variety of decorating techniques including silk screening, hot stamping, UV metallizing and custom color or spray. Scene is ideal for alphabet creams, primers, foundations or formulas with a unique color.
The Scene package will be displayed at the 2014 UBM Canon Trade Shows, commencing at EastPack from June 10-14, at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. The AmeriStar and Visionary Awards Ceremony honoring this year’s winning packages from all categories will also take place during this event.
Winning the AmeriStar award qualifies Scene for the WorldStar competition, the pre-eminent international packaging award sponsored by the World Packaging Organization (WPO).
Fusion Packaging previously won the AmeriStar and WorldStar awards for the twist-to-open Stu package in 2011.
