SKF Canada to acquire Hofmann Engineering North America

Company purchase considered a great addition to SKF Solution Factory initiative.

SKF Canada Ltd. and Hofmann Engineering, Australia together with other minority owners, have entered into agreement that SKF acquire Hofmann Engineering North America.

Dan Reed, president of SKF Regional Sales and Service, North America, explains, “Hofmann Engineering North America is a great fit with our strategy and activities. They have a strong product and service portfolio and skilled staff. The complementary nature of their products and technologies will enable us to even better serve our customers in the industrial market in North America.”

Hofmann Engineering North America is a high precision machining operation located in Cambridge, ON in a 50,000 square foot facility with 16 employees.  It is currently servicing mainly OEM customers handling large components. Main offers include:

  • Large pinion and gear solutions;
  • Precision grinding;
  • Custom engineering projects.

SKF Solution Factories is a global SKF initiative to bring people, services and technology together to deliver custom solutions. This acquisition will add to current SKF Solution Factory capabilities and enable SKF to:

−    better serve customers in primarily Mining, Metals and Pulp and Paper industries in North America with a more complete product and service portfolio
−    expand current offer of customized engineering projects to allow customers to improve asset performance.
