Ellis Group adds new Komori press

As part of The Ellis Group, Ellis Packaging West Inc. has purchased a new Komori Corporation GLX 41-inch, seven-color printing press from Canadian Komori America Corporation agent Komcan Inc. (of Georgetown, Ont.), to be installed at its Guelph, Ont. facility in March of 2017.
The Ellis Group are a leading Canadian business involving the design, production and distribution of paperboard and packaging solutions, featuring three Ontario production facilities located in Guelph, Pickering and Mississauga.
This is the second Komori GLX printing press for Ellis Packaging—and the second Komori GLX purchased in Canada—following the purchase of a Komori GLX eight-color press installed at its Pickering plant.
The Komori GLX 41-inch, seven-color printing press comes with with Komori’s PQA-S inline inspection system and color control that scans individual sheets to adjust print runs to ensure ink consistency.
Ellis Packaging president Cathie Ellis says: “Ellis Packaging is elated with our newest acquisition of the GLX as we spent many months doing due diligence on this Press Project – in the end we felt that Komori provided the solution that we were looking for.

Able to operate at 18,000 sheets an hour, the Komori GLX 41-inch, seven-color printing press is specifically equipped with a low-energy curing system.
