New Regina E-F.A.S.T. material is made with a new environmentally-friendly grade of Delrin that boosts performance of high-speed filling lines.

GENEVA—On the eve of Drinktec 2017, the launch of Regina E-F.A.S.T. (ecological, friction abating sliding thermoplastic) material (see yellow product in image above) marks the fruit of a four-year long joint project between DuPont and Regina, world leader in the development of conveyor chains and belts. E-F.A.S.T., boosted by a new grade of DuPont Delrin acetal homopolymer, is providing customers with a higher productivity and more environmentally-friendly solution for high-speed filling lines.

This latest innovation from DuPont and Regina reflects how the two companies effectively respond to emerging trends and demonstrate their commitment to successfully adjust their portfolio to the evolving needs of their customers.

As market players face increased demand for conveyor chains and belts functioning at higher speed, and as they need to respond to growing environmental requirements, DuPont and Regina provide tailored application developments, supported by their strong global R&D capabilities.

One of the key features of the new DuPont Delrin grade is its consistently low coefficient of friction over time. This enables customers to run filling plants while minimizing the use of lubricants.

The opportunity to save water, reduce energy consumption, and limit cost spent on water treatment has a significant positive impact on productivity and environmental performance.

The unique composition of this new Delrin grade ensures a “dry-running material” and, thus, a “green” conveyor solution, leading to low-maintenance cost, a longer life time, and better working conditions due to less soap and water wash down hazards.

Finally, the outstanding wear properties of DuPont Delrin reduce dusting considerably.

“After four years of combined efforts we have succeeded in introducing to the market an exceptional material dedicated to high-speed bottling application. This breakthrough would not have been possible without DuPont’s vast development expertise and adaptability to market changes”, says Regina general manager Paolo Garbagnati.

The partnership between DuPont and Regina dates back more than half a century—Regina was one of the very first companies to use Delrin grades.

This collaboration perfectly exemplifies how DuPont works closely together with its customers, from challenge to solution, by pooling resources and expertise.

Regina, with the support of DuPont, will be present at Drinktec 2017 (Hall A5. Stand No. 343) to showcase E-F.A.S.T. to customers and partners.

Drinktec is the world’s leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry and the 2017 edition will be held at Messe Munich from September 11-15, 2017.
