Sustainability Atlantic Packaging Products Certificate of Environmental Sustainability Sleeman BreweriesOn May 11, 2009, Sleeman Breweries Ltd., headquartered in Guelph, Ont. was awarded a Certificate of Environmental Sustainability from corrugated supplier Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd. for its commitment to the environment and its sustainable packaging practices.
By choosing to utilize Atlantic Packaging’s recycled, sustainable corrugated products for its beer outer packaging and inserts, Sleeman has helped preserve over 36,408 mature trees in 2007. It’s a savings that represents the diversion of nearly 61 truckloads or 1,517 tons of waste that would otherwise be destined for landfill.

Although not the first company to earn an enviro-certificate from Atlantic, Sleeman is keen to maintain the lofty ideals that it evokes.
“Sleeman Breweries has been working on lowering its impact on the environment for quite a few years now, by not only ensuring that our breweries are green, but to find vendors who are as well,” explains Darlene Fidler, purchasing manager packaging materials, Sleeman Breweries. “It’s why Atlantic Packaging has been a supplier for Sleeman for the past four years.”
