Planned partnerships seeks to promote the many advantages of corrugated.

BRAMPTON, ON—In late May 2015, the Canadian Corrugated and Containerboard Association (CCCA) was advised by the Canadian chapter of the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters (AICC) that the AICC would “step up to the plate” and financially support the CCCA’s current communications outreach program.

Now in its third year, the program blends a combination of paid advertisements and advertorials to reinforce the significant and singular benefits of the ubiquitous corrugated shipping container.

CCCA executive director, David Andrews, noted that those core values are “too often taken for granted and need to be re-introduced, re-emphasized and reminded to our customers.”

Corrugated’s many unique features and benefits include outstanding strength-to-weight ratios, smooth finished flat panels offering graphic promotion opportunities, recycled paper fiber content and subsequent total recyclability once used.

“All contribute to an outstanding product,” Andrews says.

Immediately following confirmation of the financial commitment from the AICC, Andrews thanked AICC Canada, citing their “generous financial support toward CCCA efforts” in a note of appreciation sent to AICC Canada chairman Marco Studer.

In reply, Studer offers: “We’re really happy to support the efforts of the CCCA in their ongoing informational campaign. This contribution from AICC Canada is tangible confirmation that our Members recognize the importance of communicating the unique benefits and superior performance characteristics of corrugated, compared to other packaging materials.”

Working in concert with the Corrugated Packaging Alliance (CPA) in the U.S. and with FEFCO (European Corrugated Packaging Association) in Europe, the CCCA and AICC Canada are rolling out factual science-based performance features of efficient and cost-effective single trip corrugated containers.

Reflecting the newly-added financial support from AICC Canada, coming waves of media advertising will incorporate the new AICC logo and future advertorial materials will reference AICC Canada as a “co-industry partner” in advocating the many advantages of corrugated to the retail market and other targeted audiences as the “recyclable and food- safe distribution package of choice.”
