Noted global corrugated converter Cascades Inc. headquartered in Kingsey Falls, Que. has partnered with the Reno De Medici Group of Italy to offer customers a 100 per cent recycled Christmas tree.

Cascades has a brand new online boutique and is proposing a different way to think about the holiday season, with the recycled tree that not only looks stylish, but is manufactured with a small environmental impact. In collaboration with Reno De Medici–the leading Italian and second-ranked European producer of cartonboard based on recycled material–the simultaneous launch of two web stores will enable North American and European households to order and receive the tree of their choice in a few clicks.

A Made-to-Measure Christmas Tree

With its long detachable pieces that remind you of a puzzle, assembling the Christmas tree becomes a true child’s game and once the Holiday Season is over, it can easily be stored. Developed in concert with Reno De Medici, the first three models of the Collection Reno Carton 3DTM, the Classico, Moderno and Piccolo trees are manufactured in high quality cardboard and will certainly capture the with its great design.

In white, they offer a beautiful canvas for kids and adults to use their imagination in decorating and customizing the tree to their taste. For the traditionalists, the green is available, while design aficionados will love the trendy printed version with its resolutely modern look.

Respect for the Environment

Manufactured entirely with recycled fibers, the Christmas trees reflects Cascades and Reno De Medici true corporate values of respect for the environment and are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)– certified. The raw materials come used from the urban forest’s recycling bins. Resistant enough to be reused for many years, this product can then end its life where it began, thus restarting the recycling loop.

And Innovation Continues on the Web

The Cascades team does not intend to shut down its online boutique after the holiday season, as the store will offer a range of novelty products all in line with its ecological philosophy, such as a children’s cardboard playhouse which is already available, and children’s cardboard furniture which will appear in 2011.

An Association with… Santa Claus

In order to expand its international reach, Cascades has partnered this Christmas season with Santa Claus and its console PNP – Portable North Pole enabling people to create and send free personalized Santa Claus video messages to kids, friends or colleagues. These video messages can be visualized on a computer screen or on iPhone, iPod or iPad, thanks to a free application available on Apple‘s App Store.
