General Klockner Pentaplast Pentafood

Klöckner Pentaplast, the world’s leading producer of films for pharmaceutical, medical device, food, electronics, and general-purpose thermoform packaging, as well as printing and specialty applications, has extended its Pentafood film product line to include: Pentafood kpbar SmartCycle (PET/EVOH/PE) and Pentafood kpseal SmartCycle (PET/PE) rigid PET films made from post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.

Designed to provide enhanced sealing characteristics and excellent barrier performance while helping meet packaging sustainability goals, these innovative Pentafood films are engineered to enhance modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) and extend a product’s shelf life.

The new films provide an excellent barrier for moisture, gases, and aromas while maintaining food safety and hygiene. By utilizing SmartCycle PET base films, these laminated films have the added benefit of containing post-consumer recycled content.

Ideal for trays and blisters, Pentafood kpbar SmartCycle and Pentafood kpseal SmartCycle films provide outstanding sealability, even through contaminants, with a wide range of permanent or easy-peel sealant options. As with all Pentafood films, these films offer exceptional processability on standard thermoforming and form/fill/seal equipment and are available in custom colors and with UV, anti-fog, or improved denesting surface properties.

Pentafood kpbar SmartCycle and Pentafood kpseal SmartCycle are compliant with all applicable FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) standards for direct food contact. Through its partnership with Packaging 2.0 LLC, Klöckner offers SmartCycle films, which offer various guaranteed levels of post-consumer recycled plastic bottle content. These films comply with all FDA regulations for direct food contact and are certified to meet domestic packaging regulations.
