Automation Design & Innovation Controls/Drives Festo VUVG-…-S solenoid valve VUVS-…-S solenoid valve

The VUVS rugged valve and VUVG compact valve variants are Festo's newest stars in automation

MISSISSAUGA, Ont.—Festo’s new rugged VUVS-…-S (right in image above) and compact VUVG-…-S solenoid valves for individual connection tick off several boxes for customers:

  • they are reliable;
  • attractively priced;
  • combinable as valve terminals, and;
  • available for delivery in Canada in 1-2 business days, even in large volumes.

They are two of Festo’s Stars in Automation, core products tagged for fast recognition in the company’s online catalogue with a blue star.

Their economical pricing makes these new variants ideal for mass applications. With focused features that meet the key requirements of solenoid valves, they are suitable for 80 percent of all compact or heavy-duty pneumatic applications.

Festo has invested in highly automated systems at its new Scharnhausen Technology Plant in Germany for manufacturing its VG and VS standard valve ranges so that it can deliver large volumes for bulk orders, even on short notice. As core products, both of these new valve types also are stocked at 13 Festo distribution centers worldwide.

The VUVG-…-S compact solenoid is ideal for applications such as small parts assembly, for the electronics, food and packaging industries, as well as for special machine construction where the design requires pneumatic valves that fit in tight installation spaces. It offers more performance than other compact solenoids and can be ordered with IP40 or IP65 protection.

The VUVG-…-S is available as an electrically or pneumatically actuated valve and can be expanded to form a valve terminal with an individual connection. With its focused and sturdy characteristics, the VUVS-…-S suits operations in many sectors and markets, from conveying and filling plants to the wood industry, as well as in actuation of cylinders or compressed air networks. Its modern design covers up to 80 percent of all applications in tough and harsh environments in automation technology. The VUVS-…-S can be used with an operating pressure of 2-8 bar and a flow rate of up to 1000 l/min and is suitable for use in a temperature range of -5°C to +50°C.
