Premier Tech Acquires Graphic Packaging Bagging Equip. Div.

General acquisition Graphic Packaging International Inc. Premier TechThe Rivière-du-Loup, Que.-based Premier Tech—an internationally renowned group of companies that offers complete and integrated systems for packaging, handling, processing and recycling—has announced the acquisition of all assets of the equipment division of Graphic Packaging International, Inc., a Salt Lake City company that manufactures and markets packaging equipment, specializing in valve bag filling systems.
With the purchase, Premier Tech Systems (PTS), a business unit of Premier Tech strengthens its position as a leader in industrial flexible packaging. The addition of a sixth North American plant allows PTS to improve its presence in its various markets, while diversifying its product line, in order to speed up a penetration of the American territory.
Founded in 1901 and formerly operating as St-Regis and Stone, the equipment division of Graphic Packaging International is known as the developer of a series of valve bag filling systems for packaging of granular and powdered products, mainly in the food, chemical and mineral industries. These products will now be marketed by PTS under the Stonepak label and will complete the company’s technological platforms.
