BOLTON, ONT.—Husky Injection Molding Systems has finalized its acquisition of Austrian closure mold maker, KTW.

The financial details of the deal were not released.

“This acquisition allows us to more closely integrate KTW technologies into the industry’s most advanced closure molding systems,” said John Galt, Husky’s President and CEO.

“Being able to offer customers a complete solution that is optimized to work seamlessly means increased productivity, less waste and improved part quality,” he said.

Husky has been working with the Austrian company for 14 years. KTW has operations in Austria, the Czech Republic and Germany.

“We realized that even closer collaboration would be needed in developing the core elements of the closure system,” said John Galt, Husky’s president and CEO.

Husky will now offer KTW-branded closure molds as part of its fully integrated turnkey systems.

The deal makes Husky the closure industry’s only provider of complete injection molding systems, including mold, machine, hot runner, temperature controller, as well as a range of consulting and after-sales services, according to the company.

Husky’s closure offering includes its HyCAP system for beverage closures, Hylectric system for specialty closures, a full line of hot runners, Altanium controller and the industry’s most comprehensive after-sales support.

KTW managing directors Anja and Claus Ziegler will continue to be involved in the business.
Husky is also conducting a strategic review process for KTW’s custom injection molding division, Injectoplast.
