Motoman Robotics Division debuts new facility in Queretaro, Mexico.

Dayton, OH—Yaskawa America, Inc., Motoman Robotics Division has a new facility—officially opened in November  of 2013—based in Queretaro, Mexico, the company’s third location in that country.

This new 5,000-square-foot facility will house approximately six employees, with the plan to expand the employee base as the company expands its operations as it uses it for sales, training, parts warehousing and robot demonstrations.

“With the recent growth of our customer base in the region, we knew that we needed to expand our support team and have a more local presence,” states Doug Schenher, vice-president of Yaskawa’s customer satisfaction group. “The establishment of a new regional office in Queretaro allows us to accomplish this. We will now be able to provide more local training, service and parts fulfillment. Additionally, we have ample, high bay shop floor space available for robot demonstrations to show potential customers and local integrators.”

Mexico continues to grow throughout most industries—the automotive industry is the fastest growing, with many automotive suppliers expanding their manufacturing efforts in Mexico in 2014. Additional fast-growing industries include aerospace, medical device, consumer products and electronics.
